About Hampton Farms

The Barnes family began farming peanuts in 1917. Then in 1946, our sister company, Severn Peanut Company started shelling peanuts. In 1989, Hampton Farms was founded to complete the circle of our service. This enabled us to have complete control of the peanuts from the farm to our retail customer. Hampton Farms goal was, and remains, to be the best roaster of peanut products in the world.

We have three roasting facilities in which we dry roast In-Shell-Peanuts. Our main roasting facility is located in Severn, North Carolina in the heart of what is known as the "V/C (Virginia-Carolina) Peanut Belt." We also have a facility in Portales, New Mexico, the primary growing region for Valencia peanuts. Our third facility is located in Springfield, Massachusetts where we service the northeast United States and Eastern Canada.

The following accomplishments are evidence that we are meeting our goal.

• We are currently the fastest growing peanut company in the country and recently our brand became the number one brand of in-shell peanuts in the U.S.
• We have customers in all 50 states as well as Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom.
• We have the widest line of In-shell peanuts available anywhere.

Our Family of Companies

Today, we remain family owned and committed to producing the finest snacks available. We know we provide the freshest and finest peanuts because we are involved in every phase of bringing them to you, direct from the farm.

Meherrin, our parent company, sells seed, fertilizer, and crop protectants to farmers. They also have agronomists on staff for consultations to help ensure a high quality crop from the farms.

Severn Peanut Company, our sister company, then buys these peanuts directly from the farmers. As a regional shelling facility, we size and clean the peanuts and provide all varieties of raw bulk peanuts.

The best peanuts, which make the grade of USDA standards, are then brought across the street to us at Hampton Farms. We roast them fresh, right here at the farm, and send them directly to our many retail customers across North America.
