DURHAM, N.C. - The N.C. Governor's Highway Safety Program (NCGHSP) has signed up to participate in a sponsorship program with all 10 N.C. minor league baseball teams for the 2006 season in a deal orchestrated by Insider Sports Marketing, a new firm recently launched by former Durham Bulls sales director Chip Hutchinson.

Under the sponsorship, minor league baseball stadiums, which host more than 2.1 million fans each year, are promoting the NCGHSP's "Click It or Ticket" and "Booze It and Lose It" campaigns with prominent outfield wall signage. The signage, which appears in all 10 ballparks, features the NCGHSP logo, the "Click It or Ticket" logo and the "Booze It and Lose It" logo. In addition to the outfield sign, a banner reading "Please Drive Safely" is positioned at all exit gates, and five teams placed "Click It or Ticket" signs on stop signs near their ballparks. Finally, a public address announcement made at the end of each game reminds fans to drive safely, use their safety belts and report to the stadium's Fan Assistance Center if they've had too much to drink.

"Minor league baseball stadiums cater to families, so they are a natural fit for the NCGHSP's message," said Chip Hutchinson. "This opportunity provides great exposure for the NCGHSP and a unique way to reach the general public."
